Woman Died on Interstate From Failed Tire

On Saturday, June 9 a woman died on Interstate 15 due to a failed tire.

According to Nevada Highway Patrol, 18 year old Clara Jackson was driving south of Interstate 15 in a white 1999 Ford Ranger. She was south of mile marker 120 and the right rear tire on the truck failed. The truck then began to veer to the left and Jackson overcorrected to the right. The truck then began to spin and ran off the road in a desert area and rolled onto its right side, Jackson was not wearing a seat belt and she was ejected and pronounced dead at the scene.

The Highway Patrol went on to say that also in the car with her was a 19 year old male passenger who received minor injuries and he was taken to Mesa View Hospital.
