On Sunday, May 17, a rollover crash in southern Nevada killed three people and injured a fourth.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened at around 1.40 p.m. on State Route 163 near Laughlin. Only one vehicle was involved, a 2000 GMC Safari which was travelling eastbound. The left rear tire failed and the 85 year old driver over corrected and lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle then spun and went into the desert area to the south of the road.
The only person who survived the accident was the driver, and he was taken to the University Medical Center in Las Vegas for treatment of minor injuries.
Nevada Highway Patrol said that the three passengers were all pronounced dead at the scene. One was 82 year old Raymond Guzman of Los Angeles and the other two were female. On was 84 and the other was 77. Their names have not yet been released.
