On Sunday afternoon, August 9 an elderly gentleman from Ambridge was killed and his wife critically injured in a collision.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the accident happened shortly after 1 p.m. on the Interstate 15 near the Arizona Nevada line, about 70 miles north east of Las Vegas.
A 2005 Jaguar sedan, being driven by a 75 year old woman from Ambridge veered across the dirt median into the southbound lanes of the freeway and directly into the path of a tractor trailer. The semi then burst into flames.
A passenger in the Jaguar, 77 year old Harry Molchen, thought to be the husband of the driver, was killed and pronounced dead at the scene. His wife was critically injured and taken to hospital where she is expected to survive.
The driver of the tractor trailer, who was a 46 year old male, was uninjured in the collision.
